REVEAL values the sharing of information and the development of skills. The internet offers a lot of help, but is often not tailored to your needs.

All courses are:

in the format of a workshop with a personal instructor
in our studio with all needed equipment
individual or in a group of maximum three people
with free and open source software that runs on Windows, macOS and Linux

Working with audio and video at REVEAL is fun and you quickly have quality results. In order to operate the audio and video systems at REVEAL and to do post-production

Audio recording

This course is for people that want to record audio of a DJ set or a live set. It covers following four aspects: the hardware setup, the mixer, sound card and software settings, the recording process and the post-production. You will learn the complete process and also practice how to solve some common issues. By using Audacity you will be able to not only record well but also lift the result to a higher level in post-production.

Audio post-production

Also with Audacity, you will learn to improve your recording. REVEAL has a lot of expertise doing post-production. This course lets you work with realistic examples from our events and you can also work with a recording of your own. You will learn how to clean up different types of unwanted noises, normalize music and level interviews.

Video recording

To create a video of your set with our seven! cameras, this course is for you. A prerequisite is to have completed the audio recording course. Camera placement and focus is covered. The software OBS Studio will be used to learn how to record video of your performance.

Video post-production

With Shotcut Also with Audacity, you will learn to improve your recording. REVEAL has a lot of expertise doing post-production. This course lets you work with realistic examples from our events and you can also work with a recording of your own.

Lighting

We use ChamSys MagicQ to control the led lights, disco ball, strobe, black lights and hazer in REVEAL. From experience, we can teach you how to balance light so it is enjoyable for both the audience and how it looks on camera, as that is not trivial. Additionally, it is possible how to learn to operate the six beamers we have installed. In this course you will learn how to use preprogrammed patterns, but also to manual control all the devices for a immersive experience for your audience and the recording.
